Power Monitor is a utility designed to help you optimize your AS/400's resources during a power outage while your system is running on battery back-up.There are many benefits to complementing your UPS/battery
back-up feature with Power Monitor. Those benefits include...
- Avoid unnecessary power downs by powering down the system only after the power has been out for a specified length of time.
- Notify those users that still have power that the system is running on battery power and may be taken down soon.
- Prevent new jobs from being started while the system is running on battery power.
- Upon power restoration, automatically "undo" any measures taken while the system was running on battery power.
- And many more.
Power Monitor allows you to specify a sequence of events to occur at given intervals following a power failure or power restoration. Events that may be scheduled include the following:
- Power down your AS/400.
- Send messages to your system operator.
- Send messages to users.
- Hold/release job queues.
- End/start subsystems.
- Submit user programs.
Power Monitor is designed to work on both AS/400's with external UPS systems and AS/400's with the built in battery back-up feature.
